Author visit: Susan Santangelo

Susan Santangelo, author of the Baby Boomer mystery series, will be signing books at the dog show all weekend, 10a-3p. A perfect holiday gift for dog lovers!
The Baby Boomer Mysteries follow the adventures of Carol Andrews and her beloved husband Jim as they travel along life’s rocky highway toward their golden years. Two English cocker spaniels, Lucy and Ethel, are prominently featured in the books.
An early member of the Boomer generation herself, Susan Santangelo has been a feature writer, drama critic and editor for daily and weekly newspapers in the New York metropolitan area, including a stint at Cosmopolitan magazine. Susan is a member of Sisters in Crime and The Cape Cod Writers Center, and also reviews mysteries for Suspense magazine. She divides her time between Cape Cod and the Connecticut shoreline, and shares her life with her husband Joe and two English cocker spaniels: Tucker and Boomer. Boomer is also the cover model for Moving Can Be Murder.
A portion of the sales from the Baby Boomer Mysteries is donated to the Breast Cancer Survival Center, a non-profit organization based in Connecticut which Susan founded in 1999 after being diagnosed with cancer herself.
Susan is currently at work on her third mystery, Marriage Can Be Murder, which will feature a destination wedding on Nantucket.
Susan will be signing books on Saturday December 10 and Sunday December 11 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Stop by and say hello!
Coming soon... plan your show visit
Looking to plan your visit to the show around your favorite dog breed? Our entries have just closed, and the show superintendent is busy getting the schedule together; ring times start at 8a. Check back here on December 2nd to find out the full schedule: what breeds are showing at certain times for their "Best In Breed" conformation trials, and in what ring. The nonprofit booth and demo schedule will go up then, too, but you can plan on all other dog demos on Saturday and Sunday nonstop from 11a-2p, at a minimum!
New sponsor, more demos, reduced admission!
One of the oldest and most prestigious sporting events in North America, the Canine Pet Expo and AKC Dog Show combines the public's love of dogs with a 100-year tradition of American Kennel Club excellence. Formerly known as the Bay Colony Dog Show, this four-day event runs December 8-11, 2011 in downtown Providence at the Rhode Island Convention Center amidst world-class dining and shopping, steps from the Amtrak commuter rail train station from Boston.
This year's event is generously sponsored by Purina, and features many more demonstrations of agility, flyball, frisbee, nosework and training, as well as breed rescue clubs and the return of our popular "Meet the Breed" activity. This year boasts a reduced admission price for adults ($10) and free admission for kids under 12... families welcome!

Each day is a separate show, with a different Best In Show winner at the end of each day. The show is hosted by three prestigious American Kennel Club (AKC) dog clubs: on Thursday, Middlesex County Kennel Club; Friday is hosted by Ladies Dog Club; and both Saturday and Sunday are hosted by the prestigious Eastern Dog Club.

The nation's most reputable dog breeders, breed rescue clubs and vendors are proud to bring this quality AKC show to dog lovers from throughout the region. You cannot bring your pet dog to the dog show, but you can bring him home a treat.
See you at the show!
